STV Program of the Day

Welcome to SustainableTV.org

Welcome to sustainabletv.org (STV). Your source for sustainability based programming. STV is uploadable. Please share your story of sustainability with us. We feature programming on a number of topics.

Currently, our focus is on ecotourism. And particularly, ecotourism in Costa Rica. Costa Rica has a lot to offer those looking for a wonderful nature experience. And STV has a lot to offer those researching a trip to Costa Rica.

This summer we will be adding to the ecotourism category as we criss-cross Costa Rica producing videos on ecolodges and rural-community tourism projects.

There are many ecolodges in Costa Rica. Ecolodges are typically fairly small hotels on large tracts of land. Revenues from the lodge help pay for the land and wages etc. These private reserves are less crowded than national parks and offer extraordinary wildlife opportunities. Many lodges have their own guides on staff and their ability to see things we cannot makes spending time with them incredibly fun and educational.

To learn more about what ecolodges have to offer, click on the watch stv button and watch the many programs we have profiling many of Costa Rica’s best ecolodges. There are also a number of documentaries about the country offering insight into what makes Costa Rica such a special place and why it’s so popular with those looking for safe, comfortable and incredible nature experiences.

People often ask me what I like best about Costa Rica. After 10 years of filming and exploring the country I think I finally have an answer. Everything. From the volcanoes in the north to the rainforests in the south, Costa Rica has something for everybody looking for true nature experiences.

Besides Costa Rica, there are also programs about Nicaragua, Guatemala, China and Rwanda.

I hope you enjoy the programs we have and if you have a question, feel free to ask, I’ll do my best.

SUSTAINABLETV.ORG IS UPLOADABLE.

Whether you go to Costa Rica or anywhere else in the world, we would love to show it on STV.

INCOME POTENTIAL

Once STV becomes popular with those interested in our programming, we’ll be introducing eco-minded advertisers to the site. There will be a 50-50 split between STV and the contributing producer.

If you are an independent producer producing content that falls under the umbrella of sustainability, we would welcome your programming.

We have programming on a variety of categories ranging from ecotourism to human rights.

One of our goals is to help draw attention to the myriad of environmental and social issues facing us.

In an effort to provide information about the important work of others, we have channels set up for organizations who are working on making the planet a better place for all.

They include - Rainforest Alliance, an international nonprofit organization dedicated to the conservation of tropical forests - Blue Legacy, Blue Legacy is an initiative started in 2008 by Alexandra Cousteau to engage individuals around the world through telling the story of our water planet. Blue Legacy works to: to help shape society’s dialogue to include water as one of the defining issues of our century - International Rivers, International Rivers' mission is to protect rivers and defend the rights of communities that depend on them - Bioneers, Bioneers is inspiring a shift to live on Earth in ways that honor the web of life, each other and future generations - The International Ecotourism Society (TIES). As the world's oldest and largest international ecotourism association, TIES seeks to be the global source of knowledge and advocacy uniting communities, conservation, and sustainable travel.

STV will do as much as we can to cross-promote your program and/or cause. When filling out the description portion of the uploader, please include websites, emails or any other contact information you wish to include.
